Fall Fashion under $30 with “Shein”

Shein is celebrating 11 years of trendy, affordable fashion.  Trends come and go, so I love the concept of spending less on the trendy pieces and investing in the classics.   I recently started partnering with them and I have been impressed with the quality based on the inexpensive prices.  Their clothing tends to run on the small side, but there have been a few exceptions.  I recommend going up a size, but ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS!!  To celebrate their anniversary, I am doing a roundup of my favorite fall/winter pieces under $30!  They’ve given my followers a special Code, Q4emilyyoung78, and receive 15% purchase off of your entire purchase!

It’s no secret that animal print is huge for fall!  This leopard frill blouse is only $15 and so gorgeous!  It runs TTS.

IMG_5984

This cropped leopard jacket is so fun for fall/winter.  It’s $28 and I definitely recommend sizing up in this one.  It would also be super cute over a dress!  I paired it with Black denim and they are so comfy and flattering!

IMG_5977

This oversized leopard sweater might be my favorite item from Shein.   I love the tunic length which makes it perfect for leggings too! It also comes in brown.  It runs big, so don’t size up in this one!

IMG_5971

I am pretty picky about the texture of my sweaters.  If they are itchy, or too heavy, I am not a fan!  This Fluffy zebra sweater is so soft and cozy and only $25!  I  sized up to a medium in this one.  Serious question:  Do you prefer white or orange pumpkins for decorating?   I go for white since it matches my house better!

IMG_5991.JPG

Another fall favorite is this shawl collar cardigan.  The color is perfect for fall and it is super soft and in one size!

And I can’t stop there! Shein has so many great pieces, so I’m rounding up some more of my favorite pieces for Fall/winter, all $25 and under!

Happy Fall to all of my readers and Happy 11th anniversary to Shein.  I love that they create fashionable clothing that are affordable for any budget!  Don’t forget to use my discount code, Q4emilyyoung78

5. Animal print-  Animal print has never gone away, but it is bigger than ever this year!! 30A/ Santa Rosa Beach Travel Guide

(crochet halter dressstraw totecat eye sunglasses)

Five years ago my family visited Seaside, FL for the first time.  We instantly fell in love with everything about the area: the food, the beaches, the people, the shops, and especially the quaint feel of the town.  It’s literally like a little piece of heaven nestled in the Florida panhandle.  The tourists are mostly youngish families with children who are polite and friendly.  There are no unruly college kids which is a God send! I’ve been begging the hubs for a beach house here for years because I would love to visit  regularly.  I’ll let you know how that goes! Ha!  Sit tight because this post is a long one! :

Where to Stay:

watercolor.jpg

For the past 5 years we have stayed at Watercolor Inn and Resort.  We love everything about this resort!  It is literally like a cute little town/community with shops, restaurants, and stone streets.  Everyone parks their car for the week and rides a bike.  It’s like something out of a story book.  You can stay in a small condo or in a house that sleeps up to 20.  There are so many options as far as housing and they are all decorated in the cutest coastal decor!  If you want to stay at the actual inn, you book directly through the Watercolor resort.  If you are looking for a house or condo, booking is done through 360 Blue Rentals

My kids are still young, so we don’t spend full days at the beach yet.  We go for a couple of hours and hang out, then move on to something else. Watercolor offers a private beach plus about 5 pools.  So we do a lot of pool-hopping!  The staff is also very friendly and helpful!

WHERE TO EAT

One of my favorite things about 30A is the amazing food!  The food is fresh and delicious with many healthy options!

Amavida Coffee Shop -This Coffee shop is a treat. Their bold, dreamy coffee has a distinct taste and every drink I’ve gotten is off the charts. Be sure and grab a bag to take home!

IMG_8442

The Candy Bar -This is the cutest, most whimsical spot for sweet treats!  You name it, they have it: ice cream, snow cones, and a unique assortment of candy!  This adorable shop will put a sparkle in the eye of any child!

IMG_3017.jpg

Wine World– This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Seaside!  Despite the name, the food is absolutely outstanding.  I’ve had their pizza, salads, and fresh fish. It has all been amazing! My kids love it too, which is a miracle these days!  I am not a wine expert, but they have huge selection and happy hour between 4-6 everyday!  Every year we take a family picture in front of the fountain!  This is our family “spot”!

IMG_3023.jpg

The Food Trucks-  On the Seaside square, you can experience the gourmet food trucks!  Enjoy donuts, snow cones, BBQ, beach dogs or my personal favorite, “The Great Meltdown”.  The Turkey Avacado Melt is delish!!  Then you can hang around for music or a movie at the amphitheater.

IMG_3027.jpg

Fish out of Water  Enjoy a delicious dinner with a beach view.  I got the salmon and is was AMAZING!  It is newly renovated and just reopened.  The dessert we got was the biggest thing I’ve ever seen!! I could only eat a couple of bites, but the hubs made a pretty good dent-ha!!

IMG_8446

Bud and Alley’s  is our favorite spot in Seaside for pizza!  The Great Southern Cafe is another delicious option for southern cuisine.  They really have some amazing, unique  dishes. It’s a good thing we are so active on this trip because I REALLY love the food here!

Modica Market is also a must!  This gourmet grocery is perfect if you want to grab a delicious dinner to go! Everything in here is fresh and yummy!

WHERE TO SHOP

Willow Boutique– This is my personal fave!!! It’s located on the Seaside Square and they carry some of my favorite lines!   They have one of the best, most unique shoe selections I’ve seen! Their clothes have a beachy look, but still very classic and chic.  Clothes you can wear in “real life” too!

Little Red– My girls are obsessed with this store.  They carry a unique selection of baby clothes all the way up to size 14!  We found lot’s of cute things here and I was so excited to be buying something other than workout clothes!!!

IMG_8451

Cabana Seaside- This is a fun outdoor bizarre style shop full of beachy, bohemian clothing! They also have amazing accesories! Check this one out for sure!!

MY FAVORITE SWIMSUITS AND COVER UPS

Since I live in swimwear and cover ups when we are here, I spend a lot of time selecting my suits!  I want to be comfortable and stylish at the same time!  I gravitate to one pieces these days because I find them to be more functional when I ‘m chasing my kiddos!

I love wearing breezy maxi dresses at the beach.  They are so cool and comfy.  And I love how they blow so beautifully as I walk along the sand.  Here are some of my favorites that I wore on our trip this year.  My other must have piece is a great pair of denim cutoffs to throw over my swimsuits!

What I’m Packing for the Beach

I am so excited to say we are beach bound!! Packing always makes me so nervous! I’m afraid I’m forgetting something or not bringing the right things!!  My wardrobe is simple on our beach trips: cute swimsuits, cover ups, and easy, breezy dresses.  I pretty much wear flips flops or espadrilles and I LOVE throwing in some bold statement jewelry!  And most importantly, lot’s of hats!!! It protects my skin from the rays, hides my humidity hair, and looks cute with everything!!!  This gorgeous white maxi dress from Free People is back again this year and available in 8 colors!! This is one of my all time faves for the beach and the back details are so stunning!

Summer Date Night Looks!

Date night doesn’t happen nearly enough for us, but when it does it’s super exciting!! We  go to a “fancy restaurant” where our kids would never want to go and enjoy what I call “adult food”.   I usually dress up so it feels like a special occasion because who knows when it will happen again!?

In the warmer months, I usually wear a dress.  Dresses makes me feel feminine, pretty, and they are so cool and comfortable.  The Lilah dress from Free People makes the perfect date night dress!  This vibrant color is amazing and the cut is super flattering.  I like that it has detachable straps for the bustier gals! This beauty runs true to size.  I am wearing my usual size XS in Free People.  Dan is a very casual, no fuss kind of guy.  He would wear a t-shirt 24/7 if he could.  For date night we compromise and I can usually get him in a casual button up.  The stretch poplin button up is a great date night shirt!  It’s still casual and comfortable, but very classic.  The one he is wearing has a subtle polk a dot print.  And like every guy he gravitates toward khaki shorts, so I was excited to get him in olive green shorts.  They are still a great neutral, but a little more exciting than khaki!

And now, let me just talk about our shoes because we are both obsessed! Viscata sent both of us a pair of their amazing espadrilles!  They are so comfortable and go with everything.  I have worn mine so much already this summer.  They are such a wardrobe staple.  Dan has never had a pair of espadrilles, but he is really enjoying his!  And I will love seeing him in something other than flip flops this summer!  I am wearing the Marquesa wedge in Beige and he is wearing the Medes slip on in Espresso.

Mother’s Day style and last minute gift ideas!

mom final 2.jpg

mom final 3.jpg

I can’t believe Mother’s Day is less than a week away! I recruited my mom to do this blog post with me.  She was such a good sport!  She let me dress her and she did a photo shoot with me which is NOT her thing.  But seriously, doesn’t she look amazing? I won’t share her age, but just believe me when I say, you would NEVER believe it.   We are both wearing outfits from “Loft”.  Their clothing is chic and timeless and works for both of us even though we are twenty something years apart!  I love pink, so I styled both of us in complimentary shades and you can never go wrong with a classic blazer!  Our outfits are currently 40% off too! Throw on some cute sunnies and a straw bag and you are set!

I’m sure you think the world of your mom just like I do!   I am rounding up some last minute gift ideas that ship prime and will arrive in time for Mother’s Day!  I would LOVE to receive any of these and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that my hubby will read this post!

Finally, I want to share the most important things I’ve learned from my mom.  Moms set the example and are so instrumental in who their children become.  It’s a HUGE responsibility isn’t it?  It is one I will never take lightly.  I am so grateful for all that my mom taught me and I pray that I will pass these values on to my own children.

  1. God and Faith should always come first.  Everything in life is uncertain. People, jobs, money, friends, they all come and go. The ONLY thing that is constant is God and his faithfulness! I am so thankful my mom taught me this! This mindset has helped me so much over the years!
  2. The more you do for others, the happier you will be.  In other words, be a servant.  Nothing does my heart good more than knowing that I did something kind for someone else.  Do I do it enough? No, but putting others before yourself brings a sense of joy and contentment like nothing else!  If you are feeling down, take someone a coffee, or send them a nice text.  If you are feeling less than content, volunteer for a couple of hours.  It REALLY is true and I am so thankful that she taught me this!
  3. Take care of yourself and look your best.  My mom is such a pretty lady and always has been.  As a kid, I remember she always had her hair fixed and lipstick on. She watches her weight and takes care of herself.    Is it the most important thing? NO.  But when I put on makeup, fix my hair, and put on a cute outfit, I feel so much better than when I’m looking slouchy.  I have more energy, get more accomplished, and just feel better.  It also affects how I interact with others because I am more confident.  Oh and it’s nice for my husband too!

I know she has taught me so much more than these few things, but these stand out to me the most! I am so thankful for a Godly example and I can’t thank her enough.  I hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day with those that you love.  What do you appreciate the most about your mom?

XOXO

My Favorite Spring Dresses!

Dress season is here!! Easter is next week and wedding season will be here soon.  So, I am doing a roundup of some of my favorites along with fitting information for each one!

purple lace dress.jpg

purple dress 1.jpg

First up, is this gorgeous lace midi dress!  This stunner is perfect for a wedding, a baby shower, garden party, Easter, and really any dressy occasion.  The Lace detail is beautiful and it comes in 10 colors.  It looks expensive, but is reasonably priced at $89! Be sure and size up it runs small.  I am almost always a size small, but I ordered a medium and it fits like a glove. This dress is classy, timeless, and I highly recommend it!  I paired it with a nude patent heel because it looks chic with everything!   To finish off the look, I added a wicker handbag which is perfect for any summer look!

blu wrap 1

blue wrap dress 2

Next up is this adorable wrap dress!  A wrap dress is one of the most universally flattering styles.  It works for all shapes and sizes.   It can be dressed up or down and is perfect for church, brunch, or date night! I am such a fan of navy and I was so excited to find a great dress in this color! It runs true to size. I am wearing my normal size small.   I paired it with a straw tote from you will never guess where, WALMART!!! It is under $15 too!  These espadrilles have been on repeat with my spring dresses and are so comfortable!  They are very similar to the ones by Chloe, but are under $100!  They literally go with everything!  This is a look I will wear a lot!

green jumpsuit. 1.jpg

I love a good jumpsuit as an alternative to a dress.   When I saw this fun green chiffon jumpsuit, I had to have it!! I LOVE this color and it is so comfortable and can be dressed up or down! It is currently on sale for $47 with code BLOOM30. It is one size fits all.  It is generous and would work for anyone from size 2-8.    I paired it with my favorite wedges.  I bought these last year and have worn them so much!  Despite being tall, they are extremely comfortable!  You can never go wrong with a white tote for summer  or a straw hat.  I wear this one way more than I care to admit!

pink maxi 1.jpg

If you are looking for a fun, bright dress that just SCREAMS summer, let me recommend this hi low waterfall maxi.  The shape is so flattering and I love that is has so much movement!  I ordered a size 2 and 4 because I was unsure on sizing.  To be honest, there was very little difference and I could have worn either.  I would say to order your normal size! The color is so vibrant and it really makes a statement.  I will wear this one on our beach trip for sure!

Shop all of my Spring Favorite Dress and Accessories! Almost everything is under $100!

Thanks so much for following along!  What events are on your calendar this Spring/Summer?   I hope my picks will help you find that PERFECT dress!!

Work wear Wednesday Looks with “LOFT”

I’m so excited to be teaming up with my local LOFT store to bring you 10 pieces that are perfect for the office!   This first look has a nautical vibe and is the perfect look to transition to Spring!  This adorable striped blazer is currently 40% off and has endless styling options!  I styled it with a yellow blouse (also 40%) off to give it a pop of color.  I am loving the ankle button detail on these dark skinny jeans.   These are super dressy and could almost pass as a slim leg pant if denim isn’t allowed at your office.  My go to shoe is a patent nude pump because it goes with everything and is timeless.

10 key pieces to wear now and into Spring

Every year around this time, I am 100% over Winter and ready for Spring!  Let’s face it though, there is much cold weather to come!  Incorporating some lighter colors and prints can totally brighten up your wardrobe and make it feel less drab!  We still need the layers and warmth,  but throwing in some “transition” pieces is a great idea in February and especially March.  I found ten great pieces at our local Loft store that I am loving for now and Spring. They are all currently 40% off too!

I absolutely love a Duster cardigan any time of year, but the light neutral color of this one makes an ideal year round layering piece.  In the fall and winter I wear mostly dark wash jeans  and I avoid distressing because my legs freeze with the holes.  To lighten up the look,  I went slightly lighter with a medium wash skinny jean.   Layering tees are perfect to wear year round! I wear them under everything!  And finally  a floral scarf adds some warmth, but gives the look a lighter, airy feel!  When it isn’t freezing a nude pump is my go to choice, but in the colder temps I would substitute a lighter colored suede bootie

Here are more of my favorite pieces currently at Loft that will take you into Spring! A light colored trench coat can be styled a million different ways and is timeless.   I also love lighter colored sweaters and  floral pieces!  A knee length skirt also makes a great transition piece! Wear it now with tights and booties and later with a wedge!
