“That’s a Wrap”

Wrap dresses have always been a favorite of mine! It is one of the most flattering cuts and works for every body type. It emphasizes the smallest part of the waist line and slims if you need it, AND adds curves if you need that too. So it’s a win-win situation for everyone!

I found this adorable Citrus print wrap dress online and fell in love with the fun print and flirty ruffles. This dress will be perfect for our upcoming beach trip and for summer date nights. It runs on the small side. I am usually a small, but sized up to a medium and am happy with the fit. I paired it with a nude strappy sandal that is on constant repeat in my wardrobe. I also plan on wearing an espadrille with this dress for more of a summer look. A Bamboo clutch is always perfect with a summer outfit. It keeps selling out, but is currently in stock! Side note: I have the whitest legs ever, fair-skinned redhead probs, but the St Tropez Bronzing mousse always saves the day for me. It is by far the best sunless tanner I have ever used.

As I was working on this post, I found so many great wrap dresses, many of them under $50!! I want to share those with you as well!

Target Style

I recently asked for some feedback on what my readers/followers would like to see more of. Based on the response, my readers would like to see clothing/accessories at lower price points! So this post is for you! It’s all about my favorite pieces from Target. You can’t get more affordable than that, right? Target has really stepped up their game especially in the accessory department. I also really like the new line ” A New Day”. The quality is good and the prices even better!!!

When I found these adorable Palazzo Pants I was so excited to style them. I love the print so much. And I just can’t tell you how comfortable they are. Priced at $22, this is a price range almost all of my readers can swing! For transition, I paired it with a puff sleeve denim jacket (on sale for $29) over a white lace blouse also from Target. The most versatile shoe I have found is a nude strappy heel. They go with everything!

My second look from Target is a Classic wrap dress. I love wrap dresses because they are flattering on every body shape and they are timeless. This one is priced at $27 and the fabric feels really nice!

The Best At Home Whitening System

I am a busy mom of 3 precious kiddos. More often than not, you will see a cup of coffee in my hand just like in these pictures!! I usually have a cup of coffee a day per kid-ha! So yes, that’s correct THREE cups a day. I have no intention of stopping either! I just love the taste and I don’t do the high calorie coffee drinks, so I’m fine with 3 cups a day. We all know that coffee can stain your teeth though. Luckily, mine stayed fairly white, but they needed some brightening for sure! I was starting to get some stains near the gum line. Smile Brilliant reached out to me and offered me a complimentary whitening kit in exchange for a review. I was excited to give it a try!

The process is a fairly simple one. They send you a kit to make impressions of your teeth. This is important because that means the whitening trays will fit your teeth perfectly and your results will be better. After you mail off your impressions, they will make your custom trays which you receive in about a week. Once you receive your trays it’s “GO” time.

I have very sensitive teeth so I bleached every other day. I wore my trays for about an hour (you can wear them up to 3 hours) before bed. Since I had to go slowly, the process took me a little longer than most. I really like that this professional at home teeth whitening system comes with a desensitizing gel to help with sensitivity. I used this for 15 minutes after I whitened. My teeth started brightening up pretty much immediately and over the course of several weeks got even whiter. Since I will continue to drink coffee, I plan on doing a maintenance bleach every couple of months. I am very happy with my results from Smile Brilliant and I love that it doesn’t take much time or effort. It is also very reasonably priced for a professional teeth whitening system.

My picks from the “Shopbop” Sale

Shopbop is one of my favorite websites for higher end pieces. My closet is a mix of all price points, but if I am planning on buying an investment piece, I often purchase it here. They have some of my favorite lines and they offer super quick shipping and FREE returns. They rarely have sales, but they are currently having one of their best promotions. Spend $200 get 15% off, spend $500 get 20% off, and spend $800 get 25% off. I know not many of us are out to spend $800 today. I certainly am not. But, if you are one of those people that buy a lot at once, this is a great deal. That’s $200 off!!! Several of the pieces I’ve worn recently are from Shopbop. So I want to share these pieces along with some I have my eye on. Spring Break is coming up so this is a great chance to stock up. My very favorite pink ruffle blouse is part of the sale! The color and ruffle detail are amazing and I highly recommend this top. I normally wear a small, but I got a medium in this top, so size up! My favorite high waisted denim is aslo included. I wear these all the time. They run true to size and are so comfortable. These studded heels are my current favorites. I have them in three colors and wear them ALL THE TIME. They are not part of the sale, but they are a great price and are so classy.

I posted this striped ruffle tee a while back and got some questions about it! I am so excited it is part of the sale. It is so unique and cute to wear for all seasons. I see it with white denim for Spring and some denim cutoffs!

My favorite white dress for the beach is also included!!! The Back detail is absolutely stunning! I wasn’t kidding when I said some of my VERY favorite pieces ever are from Shopbop. This dress comes in black also! I highly recommend this dress. It looks super expensive with all of the detail, but it isn’t!

My favorite shredded workout leggings are also included. These are so comfortable and fun. I love having active wear that is trendy and stylish. I spend so much time in it these days! I recommend sizing up in these. I got a small, but wish I had gotten a medium.

I also have my eye on several pieces and keep adding/taking away in my cart. I know I need to make a final decision though because things will sell out fast. Here are the pieces I have in my cart. Spring Break Shopping Guide

Spring Break is just around the corner and many of us will be headed to warmer destinations! I am not sure about you, but I am 100% ready for Spring! I have been searching for pieces that will work for Spring Break trips AND carry into summer as well!

I fell in love with The Sunny Days Tunic by Free People because I envision wearing it so many different ways. I will throw this over a pair of denim shorts, a swimsuit, and over light, distressed jeans. It can even be a dress over a white slip! I love versatile pieces with different styling options. If you want a shoe that will work with everything this Spring/summer invest in a neutral wedge! This pair is amazing and only $79! (AND it’s comfortable) And of course I styled it with the official “IT” bag of Spring/summer. This bamboo bag looks amazing with any spring/summer outfit!

The 9 curl hair tutorial

As a mom of three, my “getting ready window” has become drastically shorter. I’m not one of those people that can get by without wearing makeup and fixing my hair though. It’s just NOT PRETTY! So, I have become the master of short cuts. My nine curl hair tutorial is one of the ways I “cut corners”. I have very long, thick hair and curling it all would take forever and it also makes it look too “fixed” in my opinion. 9 curls give my hair just the right amount of curl and movement. One Romper, Three Outfits

As a fashion blogger, I want to be more than a person who takes pictures of my outfits. I want to be a stylist and fashion educator. I hope to address the “how to’s” and help women make the most of what is currently in their closet. We are all on budgets and can’t buy new clothes every time a fashion blogger posts something we like. Wouldn’t that be nice-ha! Part of my plan is to take single items of clothing and style them multiple ways! One romper, three outfits! There you go! I’m loving this already!

I found the cutest red romper with a classic sweetheart neckline and pencil leg. My challenge was to style it differently and make is work for totally different occasions. My first version I’m calling “Dressy Glam”. I threw a cropped faux fur jacket over it and paired with a studded pump. This is perfect for a dressy date, a night at the theater, and could even work for cocktail

With the next combination I went for an trendy, edgier look. I paired it with a puff sleeve denim jacket, a leopard belt, and a black patent bootie. I just can’t get over the jewel detail on those boots!! I love this look for a fun night out with friends.

Lastly, I went classic with it. I styled it with a chic Tuxedo style blazer and classy striped pump. This look works for the office, church, or any professional, sophisticated setting. This saddle bag is always the perfect accessory and is currently half-off! This is an amazing price for such a high quality handbag!

As you shop, look for pieces that you can wear multiple ways for different occasions. Wardrobe staples that are timeless, but can be made trendy with the right accessories. In the past, I’ve been on the trendy train, but now I’m leaning more towards classic pieces that I can “make trendy” if that makes sense! Which look is your favorite? The Messy Ponytail Tutorial

A messy ponytail is my go to hairstyle these days. It is the perfect solution for those days when I don’t have time to wash my hair (which is pretty often ), but it still looks pulled together. I shared this tutorial when I first started my blog, but I had some requests to share it again. This hairstyle takes about five minutes!

Formal and Fabulous (on a Budget)

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! I fell in love with this Satin Lace cocktail dress because of the beautiful detail! The back of the dress is stunning and I love the full A-line skirt. This dress is perfect if you have a dressy Valentine date coming up. The price is right on point at around $100. It looks way more expensive than that for sure!

This time of year is busy with weddings, winter formals, charity events, fundraisers, and prom is just around the corner too. JJ’s House has so many formals to choose from in every style, shape, length, and color. What impressed me most about their selection was the budget friendly prices. Let’s face it, we buy a formal and wear it ONCE!! It just doesn’t make sense to spend a lot. The quality and fit are excellent as well. There is a specific size chart and it was right on target for me!

I have a formal event coming up in March and have my eye on this Tulle evening dress for the occasion. Would you believe this stunner is under $200? I absolutely adore the color and the bead work.

If I were about 20 years younger, I promise this sweetheart ball gown would be my prom dress. Who wouldn’t feel like Cinderella in this beauty?

Yes, I’ve been happily married for 12 years now, but it’s still so much fun looking at wedding dresses. This trumpet mermaid bridal gown has just the right amount of drama and glam! You can never have enough ruffles in my opinion!

Lady in Red

Valentine’s Day is just about 2 weeks away! In case you can’t tell, I really LOVE this fun holiday! January and February can be the dreariest months weather wise, so I love that we have a fun day to brighten things up. Most of us are still recovering from Christmas as far as finances go. So, I wanted to find some fun red pieces that are budget friendly. Everything I am posting is $55 or less!!! (except for one pair of shoes that I couldn’t resist!)

As I was searching the net for fun red tops, I immediately loved this assymetrical hem red top. How fun is this shape? I am all about pieces that are unique and this one totally is. AND it is only $55. The knit is very good quality too. I highly recommend this cute and comfy top for your Valentine’s date (or any date for that matter) I like this bright red with a dark wash skinny jean. Finding an inexpensive jean that fits good is NOT easy. These are $38 and I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of them. And now the one item that is over $55 is an amazing red pom pom heel. These are my favorite shoes right now and I get SO many compliments every time I wear them. These are the perfect Valentine shoes!!!

I also totally fell in love with this fun ruffle collar bodysuit. It is such a statement maker and I love that! I paired it with a tweed skirt. Mine is a couple of years old, but I love THIS ONE. It is currently on sale too! I paired it with the Jessica Simpson Dameera pump which is the best Valentino dupe I have found!

Pretty in pink for Valentines Day!

Any day is a good day to wear pink in my opinion, but Valentines Day is just another excuse. I know red is the typical color associated with the holiday, but pink is just as festive! When I found this soft, cozy pink sweater dress I fell in love with the fur detail. This amazing piece is 30% off with code: CLASSIC making it only around $45!!! It looks and feels way more expensive than that. To dress it up for a date night I paired it with the Dameera studded heel which is the best Valentino dupe I have found!! I bought them in three colors! For a more casual look, I will wear an over the knee boot with it! I am 5′ 5 1/2″ and this is a great length for a shorter dress, but if you are tall this would look amazing over a pair of faux leather leggings. This is one of those pieces that you can do so much with!! My clutch is very old (vintage Juicy Couture), but I love THIS ONE.

White after Labor Day?

The “no white after Labor day” is totally a thing of the past!! Winter can be dark and dreary so why not brighten up your wardrobe with some white?? There are some tricks to making it work though! I paired this great pair of white skinny jeans (only $55) with the coziest pink knit cardigan (only $45) . Taupe over the knee boots (these are the best I’ve found) and a wool fedora make the look nice and cozy for winter!

5 Tips to Rock winter white

stick with heavier white fabrics: denim, sweaters, cashmere, etc. Anything linen or gauze-like is to “summery”
Pair your white piece with an obviously winter piece like a sweater or a jacket with some weight to it
Pair white with winter accessories. In this look I threw on a wool fedora and over the knee boots to keep the look season appropriate.
Layer- Multiple layers will make the look cozy and perfect for this time of year.
Whites don’t have to match exactly- I know this is a hard one for those matchy match people out there, but you can mix whites, creams, and beiges. A full TRUE white ensemble can be a bit stark!

One of my favorite trends right now is a white bootie! This gives your outfit a fun “mod” vibe. It makes me think of Austin Powers and I LOVE that look. Here are a few more of my favorite white pieces for winter.
